Dallas Climate Action Plan

Dallas Climate Action Plan

Purpose:
Develop and implement a Comprehensive Environmental and Climate Action Plan for the City of Dallas, tackling climate change, waste and recycling, water conservation, air and storm water enforcement through community engagement.
Description:
Established in 2004, the Dallas office of Environmental Quality & Sustainability (DEQS) was tasked with providing leadership to the City of Dallas on environmental related compliance. In January 2019, Dallas's Comprehensive Environmental and Climate Action Plan (CECAP) was approved by city council along with a climate resolution. The city's CECAP identifies risks specifically facing Dallas, what the city is currently doing and opportunities for improvement in mitigating these risks. Areas of focus for the CECAP include: Buildings and Energy, Transportation & Land Use, Water & Wastewater, Solid Waste, Parks and Open Space, Food and Urban Agriculture, Air Quality and Climate Resiliency.
