DOE SunShot Initiative

The SunShot Initiative funds research, development, demonstration, and implementation of solar energy projects by a wide variety of entities with the goal of achieving the cost parity of solar electricity with conventional electricity sources by 2020. SunShot provides competitive funding opportunities for projects that focus on activities including the commercialization of new solar photovoltaic technologies, the reduction of installation and soft costs of solar energy, the collaboration for utility-scale solutions, and the strengthening of the U.S. solar energy supply chain.
