The U.S. Energy Information Administration ranks the Total Energy Consumed per Capita based off consumption, expenditures, production, and price data pulled from the State Energy Data System. Total energy includes crude oil, natural gas, coal, and electric net generation. One million Btu is equal to about 293 kWh.
